Carne Golf Links on the West Coast of Ireland lies in magnificent sand dunes overlooking Blacksod Bay and the wild Atlantic Ocean near the town of Belmullet in county Mayo. Carne Golf Links was the last links course to be designed by the late Eddie Hackett and it is now believed by many who have played it to be his greatest design.
Carne Golf Links was recently been voted 7th in the top 100 golf courses in the UK & Ireland. An additional 9 holes (The Kilmore 9) opened in 2013. Designed by Jim Engh Design and McIntosh Golf Design.
The Hackett back nine and the new Kilmore nine has recently been rebranded and marketed as “The Wild Atlantic Dunes Course.”
So it is with great excitement and anticipation that the ladies of Belmullet Golf Club (the club in residence at Carne) have launched an Open Fourball Championship for Ladies on the links at Carne. The inaugural event is open to all Lady golfers and let me tell you that if the sun shines and the wind whispers, you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world. Details on the flyer below. Enjoy.
