Paul Coughlan wins the Munster Men’s Stroke play championship 2024.
Wow, what an exciting day at Cork Golf Club today! Paul Coughlan’s stellar performance, especially with his putter, propelled him to a spectacular 10-under score over the four rounds to secure the title, but what was really exciting was the two brilliant rounds of golf today, a 67 and a 69 which he played in 8 under for the 36 holes played today. It’s always impressive to see someone come from just off the pace and then dominate the final rounds like that. Brian Doran of Millicent GC claimed second place, while the Carton House duo, Darragh Flynn and Keith Egan, secured third and fourth positions respectively. Quentin Carew who figured high on the leader board after the first two rounds couldn’t maintain his early momentum and finished in 22nd place.
