Fashion Show 25 April 24
The clubhouse hosted a very lively fashion show last evening, attracting a large number of lady members. All enjoyed a delightful evening featuring a diverse display of golf clothing, with the ladies themselves modeling the outfits on what I think they call the “runway”. The event was complemented by a lovely dinner prepared by the clubhouse staff. Following the fashion showcase, there was the prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the morning competition which adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Overall, the event was a great success, leaving guests eager for future gatherings.

Mary McKeever
It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of Mary McKeever, a cherished member of both Castleknock and Black Bush golf clubs and a beloved 5-day representative on our Ladies committee for a number of years. Mary departed this world today, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, dedication, and camaraderie.
Mary’s love for golf extended beyond the fairways;. Her role as the 5-day representative on the Castleknock committee showcased not only her organizational skills but also her passion for fostering a strong sense of community among all members.
Beside her contributions to the golf club, Mary will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and the genuine connections she formed with those around her. She touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed but remembered with love and gratitude.
Go ndéana Dia trócaire uirthi.

The Captain’s Dinner
The Captains’ Dinner was an absolute blast! John Newcombe, the charismatic Men’s Captain, and Carol Kirwan, the graceful Ladies’ Captain, set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The atmosphere was great with speeches that struck the perfect balance between heartfelt and humorous. As the night unfolded, the dance floor became a hub of energy, fueled by a fantastic band that kept everyone grooving. Craic echoed through the venue, making it clear that this was more than just an event—it was a celebration of camaraderie and merriment. Here’s to more memorable nights next year with John and Sharon!!!

Captain’s Away Day/Night July
Mount Wolseley
The ladies away day took place in Mount Wolseley last Wednesday. The event was kindly sponsored by Anne Keane. We had 40 ladies who teed off in typical Irish weather…Rain. Despite the conditions, all teams finished and adjourned to the bar for a well-deserved drink, followed by prize giving.
Later that evening, we had a beautiful dinner and there was plenty of chat and craic. Let’s just say, breakfast the following morning was a little quieter than the previous night !!!
On Thursday, 31 ladies played nearby Bunclody in glorious conditions. In contrast to the previous day, we all sat down on the beautiful balcony and had lunch followed by the prize giving. It finished up a great couple of days.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event and made the away day a memorable one for Lady Captain, Carol

Dear Members,
I am privileged and honoured to be appointed President of Castleknock Golf Club for 2022 -2023.
I would like to thank Lady Captain Ann Robinson and her committee for nominating me for the position of President.
It has been an uplifting experience for both men and lady members to have a Lady President in the club for the first time. I very much appreciate the response from the members to my appointment which has been hugely complementary, supportive and encouraging.
I look forward to being your club ambassador, upholding its values, following in the footsteps of Pat, Bernard and Jack.
I would like to take this opportunity in wishing you and your family a very enjoyable and peaceful Christmas time and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
