Conditions
Singles Match Play Rules:
- Each player plays off their current handicap on the day of play.
An incorrect handicap means automatic disqualification of the player. - Handicap allowance; lowest handicap goes to scratch and the full difference between the handicaps of the players.
- All matches are played off blue tees. Unless otherwise agreed between players.
- Both Players are responsible for arranging the match and should contact their opponent within the first ten days of the round.
- The winner is responsible for recording the result. As the table will be updated on the website www.castleknockmembersclub.com please relay the results to jackcreaner@gmail.com asap.
- Matches shall not be arranged within Member’s or Club Competitions times.
- Matches not played by specified dates will be scratched unless one of the players has received a walkover. No extensions will be granted.
- If matches are not arranged by the first ten days of each round, either or both players must contact the Competition Secretary via email at compsec@castleknockgc.ie . If contact is not made within the 10 days the match will be scratched if not played by its due date.
- In all disputes the decision of the competitions committee will be final.
FourBall Match Play Rules

- Step 1: Course Handicaps
For each player, convert their Handicap Index into a Course Handicap - Step 2: Handicap allowances
Adjust each handicap to 90% of the Course Handicap, rounding to a whole number. This gives the Playing Handicaps - Step 3: Handicap difference
Adjust each Playing Handicap so the lowest handicap plays off zero.

MIXED FOURSOME
Match Play Finals Day: Saturday 16th September
Handicaps – Calculate handicaps as follows:
1. Each player identifies their course handicap (check the table in the Clubhouse)
2. Each pair determines their playing handicap which is 50% of the combined individual
handicaps, rounding to a whole number (e.g. 9.0 to 9.4 rounds to 9, 9.5 to 9.9 rounds
to 10)
3. The difference in this figure is the number of strokes given / received
Make sure you know your correct playing handicap on the day of the match: the use of an
incorrect handicaps for each match results in automatic disqualification.
All matches are played on the Blue Tees for men and red tees for women.
Men tee off from the odd holes (1,3,5, etc.) and women tee off from the red tees.
Both pairs are equally responsible for arranging the match. Each pair should endeavour to
contact their opponents as soon as possible after the draw has been published.
The winner of each match is responsible for recording the result and if no result is recorded
both pairs will be scratched.

All GUI and local rules apply in each match.
If pairs can’t agree on a date, the final dates (above) become the default date. The
organisers can’t accept requests for extensions.
Matches not completed by the specified dates will be scratched unless one pair concedes a
walkover. Where no pair concedes a walkover both pairs will be scratched and their
subsequent opponents will receive a bye into the next round.
Matches must not be arranged during Members’ or Club Competition times.
In all disputes, the decision of the competition committee will be final.
