26 Matchplay

Singles Match Play Rules

  1. Each player must calculate their current Course Handicap on the day of play. An incorrect handicap will result in the automatic disqualification of that player.
  2. Handicap allowance:
    The full difference between the Course Handicaps of the two players applies.
    As this is a major competition, Course Handicaps are capped at 28 under the club’s competition rules.
  3. Payment of Prize-money. All prize money will be paid into house accounts.
  4. All matches shall be played from the blue tees, unless otherwise agreed between the players.
  5. Both players are responsible for arranging the match and should contact their opponent as soon as possible after the draw is published. Please refer to the competition calendar for the dates of each round.
  6. The winner is responsible for recording the result. If no result is recorded by the due date, both players shall be deemed to have scratched.
  7. Match updates will be published on the members’ website: https://www.castleknockmembersclub.com
  8. Results must be sent as soon as possible to jackcreaner@gmail.com.
  9. All GUI and local rules shall apply.
  10. Matches shall not be arranged during Members’ or Club Competition times.
  11. Matches not played by the specified date shall be scratched, unless one player has been awarded a walkover.
  12. If a match has not been arranged, either player must contact the Competition Secretary by email at compsec@castleknockgc.ie. If no contact is made and the match is not played by the due date, it shall be scratched.
  13. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Competitions Committee shall be final.

Fourball Match Play Rules

  1. Each player must calculate their current Course Handicap on the day of play. An incorrect handicap will result in the automatic disqualification of that player.
  2. Handicap allowance:
    The player with the lowest Course Handicap plays off scratch. The other players receive 9/10 of the difference between their Course Handicap and the lowest Course Handicap.
    Course Handicaps are capped at 36.
    All matches shall be played from the blue tees, unless otherwise agreed between the players.
  3. Payment of Prize-money. All prize money will be paid into house accounts.
  4. Both sides are responsible for arranging the match and should contact their opponents as soon as possible after the draw is published. Please refer to the competition calendar for the closing date of each round.
  5. The winners are responsible for recording the result. If no result is recorded by the due date, both sides shall be deemed to have scratched.

Mixed Foursomes Rules

    Half of the difference between the combined Course Handicaps of the two teams.
    Course Handicaps are capped at 36 for men and 44 for ladies.
  3. All matches will be played from the blue tees for men and the red tees for ladies, unless otherwise agreed by the players.
  4. Payment of Prize-money. All prize money will be paid into house accounts.
  5. Both pairs are responsible for arranging the match and should contact their opponents as soon as possible after the draw is published. Please refer to the calendar for the dates of each round.
  6. The winner is responsible for recording the result.
