Brophy Trophy 26

Competition Rules are set out below table

Scoring

All matches are played over 9 holes. Points are awarded as follows:

  • Win: 2 points
  • Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

All 9 holes must be completed, even if the match result is decided before the 9th hole. This is important because “holes won” are used as a tiebreaker.

Example: A team wins 3&2, meaning the match is won on the 7th hole. Holes 8 and 9 must still be played. If the winning team loses both remaining holes, they still receive 2 points for the match win, but their net “holes won” is reduced accordingly (in this example, to +1 )

Tiebreaker
If two or more teams finish level on points, the standings will be decided by the total number of holes won across all matches.

Competition Rules

  • All Matches to be played in Foursomes match play format off White Tees.
  • Group stage matches to be played over 9 holes with all 9 holes completed so as to allow for a tiebrake in the event of ties after group stages completed.
  • Matches to be played off players’ COURSE handicap on the day of match.
  • Maximum HANDICAP INDEX allowed is 24
  • Each pair receives 50% of the combined total of their course handicaps. Then half the result for 9 holes. The difference between the calculated handicaps of each pair will determine the number of shots given/received.
  • Matches can be played during the week, or at weekends on the back 9 in the time slots allocated.
  • All results must be updated to jackcreaner@gmail.com after the match is completed.
  • There will be no extensions allowed, so please make sure that you are available to play in all rounds of the competition in both group and knockout stages. If a match is not completed by the deadline set, then the winner will be decided by a Coin Toss.
  • Finally in case of a dispute competition organisers decision is final.
